Davis retains platinum status as bike capital

StreetFilms' Clarence Eckerson visited Davis recently, and produced this great video showing the amenities enjoyed by residents of the only platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Community in the U.S. Davis' status as the bicycling capital of the country was recently renewed by the League of American Bicyclists.

you look at Davis and say, wow they are smart, what an awesome investment! the narrow minded don't have to fry their brain cells anymore trying to imagine what a huge waste of money it will be to build anything but car roads because now they can see what actually happens. hey, I bet the economy in Davis has crashed because they "wasted" money that could have been spent increasing sprawl! luckily we're implementing the "OSPC" program (1 SUV Per Child) in New Jersey so we don;t have to suffer Davis's fate. Sorry, I'm just jealous!

i visited there with my friend a while ago (we biked there of course) and it was absolutely amazing. normal people actually riding bikes around town? what? normal kids riding bikes around a college campus by the hundred? wow! that tunnel is awesome to hoop and holler your way through.
